The Lantern Room is on the first floor at the front, with a window seat looking down Harbour Road to the water. It has the brass lamp that gave it its name, a double bed, and the only bath in the house, which is worth knowing in October.
In the room
A double bed with a wool blanket for the cold months, the window seat with its cushions, a chest of drawers and a chair. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, a heated rail and a window of its own.
The lamp is older than the house’s plumbing and works better.
Good to know
One flight of stairs. The window faces the lane, so you hear the odd car and the boots of people walking down to the pier in the morning. The sea is a glimpse between the houses rather than a view; the Harbour Room has the view.
