The Harbour Room is the one guests ask for by name. It sits at the top of the stairs on the second floor, with a sash window that takes up most of the sea wall and looks straight down onto the pier. In the morning the boats go out under it; in the evening the light comes in low and warm across the floorboards.
In the room
A king bed with linen sheets, a wardrobe with proper hangers, a small desk by the window, and a blackout blind for anyone who does not want to wake with the fishermen. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, a heated rail and towels that get changed every third day unless you ask for more.
It is the smallest view we have, and the one everybody photographs.
Good to know
There are two flights of stairs and no lift. The window opens; the harbour is quiet at night apart from the water and one or two early engines around six. Breakfast is downstairs at the big table from eight.
