The Boat Room is at the back of the ground floor, named for the dinghy that used to winter in it before it was a bedroom. Two single beds, white walls, a reading chair under the window, and nothing to look at but the yard and a bit of hill behind it. It is the quietest room in the house and the least expensive.
In the room
The beds can be pushed together if you ask when you book. There is a wardrobe, a shelf of books nobody has finished, and a bathroom with a shower that is bigger than the room deserves. The window faces the yard, so it is dark early and still at night.
Good to know
Step-free from the hall. No sea view, which is the honest reason for the price. The two parking spaces in the yard are just outside the window, so if you arrive late you are already there.
